Walter Cloud , Jr

I was Born in San Antonio, Texas, the 1st son of Walter C. Cloud, Sr. and Alice Cloud. My only sibling, my younger brother Bryan and I grew up as “Military Brats”. My mother and father both served in the Airforce, so we traveled the world meeting different people and experiencing different cultures. After returning stateside from traveling overseas for several years, we settled down in Decatur, a city outside of Atlanta Georgia, where I attended high school, and was very active in sports.

There, I played basketball and ran track. But as much as I was an athlete, “people-ing” was what I enjoyed the most. I loved to network and create environments where people could connect and help other people. I was involved in and lead several social groups and community events in my upperclassmen years. That passion drove me to move to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area (The “DMV”, a melting pot of cultures), where I attended Princes Georges College and did the same.

With a concentration on Marketing, Advertising, and Design, my passion was for Public Relations. While in the DMV, I worked in entertainment, radio, and corporate communications, and eventually went independent to create my own advertising agency. After 22 years, the market forced me to pivot. While searching for something where my efforts directly influenced the outcome, I relocated to the Carolinas and got into sales and finance. It was in this environment, where I spent 16 years in the automotive industry as a Sales and Finance Manager, providing training to my team and reassurance to my clients. In 2012, Connecticut became home for me and my family, and a new chapter began. As I moved out of the Automotive industry, my migration to the insurance industry was a natural transition. I believe in the consultative approach with my clients, providing the information they need, so that they can make an informed decision on how to protect what is important to them.

In my current role, as an insurance agent for Comparion, I provide Property & Casualty policies for Homes, Condos, Rental, Automobiles, Motorcycle, and Boats, just to name a few. But the MOST important policy that I provide is LIFE insurance. Why? Because I LOVE LIFE!

I am the husband to a dedicated woman, Dr. Jerel A. Cloud, whom is the Jewel in my crown; a proud father of seven (6 daughters and 1 son); papa to one granddaughter and twin grandsons; and it is for all of them that I dedicate my time and effort to the work that I do. I am a leader in my church and community, and the founder of a men’s mentoring organization. I love what I have been called to do, and it would be my pleasure to provide insurance for you, your family, and your friends.
