I have recently processed a claim on our 2022 Ford Explorer.  We are in Naples, FL and had a minor fender bender.  I filed a claim and I feel I was not dealt with fairly.  At the time I filed my claim, Leslie Mingee, the claims representative assigned to me, told me I could get my vehicle fixed at any collision shop that I chose with no mention of any caution for allowable labor rates.  I tried to engage the repair at numerous collision repair shops in Naples with none would give me a repair estimate for over six weeks and none with a repair available for two to three months.  We live in Michigan and I need to get my vehicle back on the road.  I found Tamiami Collision Center, a part of Tamiami Ford Dealership here in Naples who was able to provide an estimate and repair my vehicle which was completed in less than a month.  Now the vehicle has been waiting to get the cost discrepancies resolved with Liberty Mutual’s Patrick Depaepe, Sr. Repair Network Specialist.  The difference in the allowed labor rates and those charged by Tamiami Collision Center has not been resolved.  I want to state that this restriction may be contained in the fine print of my policy, but I feel I have not been dealt with fairly here.  I did not select the rental car option and I knew that this expense would be my responsibility, but I was not advised at any time that I did not have insurance coverage to get my vehicle repaired “at any collision shop that I choose” unless I was willing to pay for rate discrepancies.  Liberty Mutual is not responsible for extensive rental expense so they have no urgency to get this vehicle repaired and back on the road until mid July as would have been necessary for me to use a collision shop that would accept Liberty Mutual labor rates.  If Liberty Mutual was paying the rental expense it would easily overshadow the difference in labor rates to get the car on the road again.  Now I am expected to pay the increased labor cost to get my car back not just a few days sooner, but months sooner.  I was only aware of the rate discrepancy after Tamiami Collision had my vehicle and were ready to commence with the repair.  Tamiami Collision insists that their rates are in line with body shops in Naples. If this is not true then I was misled and will take the responsibility. However, if they are right I feel that Liberty Mutual has not provided the insurance coverage that I paid for. Checking labor rates in communities North of Naples will show lower rates, but none of them could repair my vehicle for months.   Tamiami Collision also insists that other major insurance companies allow not only their rates, but higher rates.  At the very least I would hope Liberty Mutual would check out the validity of their claims and maybe concede that Liberty Mutual should be paying proper labor rates where a disabled vehicle is located and since Liberty Mutual was not paying for rental expense, I was justified in having a highly qualified collision shop minimize my out of pocket expense. This just isn't fair.

How can I cancel a policy and you still give me a bill of $249 because you are higher than the other company that I switched to I am dissatisfied and I'm going to do all I can to belittle this company on the way you treated me unfair no professionalism and it's called extortion and racketeering because I want to cancel you still want to charge me.

The customer service was perfect and professional speedy! They assisted me with every end of my Home ownership insurance and answered all questions fully and extensively! am a new home buyer and they made the experience completely comfortable and efficient!

This was the most problematic mess of a claim I've ever had to deal with. It took an entire month for Liberty Mutual to pay to get my window fixed after a vehicle theft. Kimberly, my claim agent, seemed like she could care less about what I was going through or the inconvenience to me. I actually had to go up the chain of command to get any resolution. Lack of communication and no sense of urgency is why LM deserves 0 stars. It goes without saying, I cancelled my policy and went with a more competent insurance company.
